Cardiac Recovery Support Hub

A dedicated, optimistic space filled with practical resources for you to download. They are designed to support the whole you, not just your heart.

Course Summary

This collection is a complete, self-directed program designed to support individuals who have survived a heart attack, heart surgery, cardiac arrest, or who live with a significant cardiac diagnosis. It moves beyond clinical care to address the vital, yet often overlooked, components of recovery: emotional healing, mental health resilience, and practical life management.

I understand that recovery is a marathon, not a sprint. This toolkit provides actionable, immediate resources from Activity Maps for quick mental shifts to Journals for clear communication - ensuring you feel empowered, organised, and confident every step of the way.

Key Learning Pillars & Outcomes
The resources are organised into three core pillars, each delivering specific outcomes crucial for a healthy, thriving post-cardiac life:

1. Mastering the Mental Game (Calm, Resilience, and Self-Talk)
This pillar focuses on healing the mind and managing the emotional fallout of a major health event so that:
  • Through anxiety and stress management, you gain immediate reduction in panic and sustainable techniques for daily stress reduction.
  • Using cognitive reframing, you will have the tools to challenge and replace negative, fearful thoughts with empowering, factual thoughts that foster resilience.
  • With emotional understanding, you will be able to process complex emotions (grief, anger, fear) and practice gentle self-compassion.

2. Medical Clarity and Clear Communication
This pillar provides the essential structure and information needed to engage confidently with your medical team and safely monitor your health:

  • You will have an understanding that will help you to demystify medical language, allowing for knowledgeable participation in your own care.
  • By tracking your vitals, you have accurate, reliable, and standardised logs for all vital signs and symptoms, ensuring safety and accurate diagnosis.
  • You can easily prepare in advance so that you will have organised medical logistics and will eliminate the stress of forgotten questions or lost post-appointment instructions.

3. Structured Success and Thriving
This pillar guides you through building new, healthy habits and establishing a structure for long-term well-being and life empowerment.

  • Helping you with goal achievement that is structured with step-by-step guidance to achieve major lifestyle changes with the highest probability of success.
  • Supporting you with your rest and recovery by giving you practical solutions for restoring restorative sleep, which is critical for physical repair and mood stability.
  • A system for focused reflection on gratitude, strengths, and life goals to foster a strong, optimistic future so you can gain life purpose and joy.
  • Access to global support for all areas of life from trusted, local emotional and practical support networks.

Who is This Course For?
This toolkit is essential for anyone who:

  • Feels anxious or overwhelmed after a cardiac event.
  • Struggles to communicate clearly with their doctor.
  • Needs a structured plan to manage medications or lifestyle changes.
  • Wants to regain a sense of control and optimism about their future.
